Hoorary for New Words

Today I've expanded my vocabulary with these new (to me) words. The first is:

Diptych - I came across this one here at English Muse. I've seen so many blogs that artfully pair two photos together and you can really feel the story and synergy of the two paired elements. I'm happy to learn that this form of art has a name.

The other word is mook. Part magazine, part book! Came across this new word here.

Images found here and here.

  1. yay vocab lessons.

i love story photography! the artist who did my banner {babe, it must be art} does a lot of story drawings... i love them!

  2. Ha, I knew about diptych and triptych from art school but mook is a new one to me! Or maybe I've seen it but had no idea what they were talking about! Actually, I must have heard that recently, because something must have prompted me to think about the Australian brand called Mook. I have no idea if they're still around but I had a skirt from them about 10 years ago. Oh, all those hybrids these days!

  3. Thanks for the new words :-)

    Cheers: Evi

  4. So pretty and just what I need, more new words--can barely remember the ones I know--haha!

  5. Haha such an interesting post. I didn't know what mook was!
